Beaver Hike

17 August 2014
We are meeting at the bridge on Vineyard Street, Winchcombe, to start at 10:30am. Our route will take us across the fields around Sudley Castle, through the fields & farm land around Sudley. It is roughly 4 miles long. There is a steep hill so we will stop to get our breath back while we enjoy the view & have a quick drink before continuing to Humblebee Cottages & then onto 'The Windrush Way'. Please bring a picnic. All Beavers & families are welcome. For those of you who are about to become Cubs, all hikes from Beavers will count towards your 'Hikes Away' total. This is an informal event so uniforms are not required, but please make sure all members of your party have suitable footwear & clothing for walking. There are lots of prickles & nettles, so trousers would be a good idea! Please remember a hat, rain coat & sun cream. It is not suitable for pushchairs, as there are styles, kissing gates & a fairly steep hill. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult & are under your control at all times. As some of the walk will pass through grazing land please make sure any dogs are always under control.   If you are planning to attend, please let me know, so we know rough numbers & if the weather forecast is bad I can contact you directly. Yours in Scouting,   Tracy Barrell Beaver Scout Leader.   07542 564442
